The National Anti-Doping Agency has suspended Manpreet Kaur for four years for a doping violation. The shot putter, who had won the gold at the Asian Grand Prix Athletics in Jinhua in 2017, was sanctioned after her samples showed the presence of anabolic steroid metenlone and a banned stimulant, dimethylbutylamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, Manpreet stands to \nlose all her results, including her national record of 18.86 metres she \nhad created at the Jinhua event in April 2017. Manpreet, who hails from \nSahauli village in Patiala, tested positive for four samples taken last \nyear. The four samples were taken at the Asian Grand Prix on April 24; \nFederation Cup on June 1 in Patiala; Asian Athletics Championships in \nBhubaneswar on July 6; and the Inter-State Championships held in Guntur\n on July 16. However, all four adverse analytical findings were \nconsidered as a single offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manpreet had requested for a \nreduced sanction after stating that she was a victim of sabotage and \nalleged that a Railways\u2019 kabaddi player may have spiked her drink after a\n verbal spat.Her food supplements were tested at the National Dope \nTesting Laboratory at the behest of NADA and it was found that one of \nthe supplements she was consuming at the time \u2018OCD Extreme Pre Workout \nformula\u201d showed traces of dimethylbutylamine. However, the above report \ndid not have any bearing on the decision taken by the panel, headed by \nKuldeep Singh.
