These women made their presence felt, \ncelebrating the festival of democracy.The Election Commission had also \nset up pink booths for women. The active participation of half of \ncountry’s population in electoral exercise indicated their desire to see\n India a prosperous and powerful nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The elderly too used \ntheir voting rights enthusiastically in the first phase of polls. \nThough, age creates many problems and hurdles in everyday life for such \npeople, but the importance of casting vote in democracy gave them the \nstrength to overcome those problems.Even though, they may have crossed \n100, but their sense of responsibilities and their enthusiasm is the \nsource of inspiration for others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Divyang voters were not far \nbehind either in first phase polls. The Election Commission had made \nspecial arrangements for these voters. The scout guide helped \ndifferently-abled voters, providing them wheelchairs so that they can \nreach polling booths to cast their votes.The enthusiasm of these divyang\n voters forced everyone to think and realise the importance of voting \nrights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adding some colour to the dance of democracy was this \ngroom who went to cast his vote at a polling station wearing his wedding\n attire. The bridegroom voted at Booth No. 71 of Bijnor Lok Sabha \nconstituency, Jalilpur.The world’s smallest woman Jyoti Amge also voted \nin Nagpur.While in Chandrapur in Maharashtra transgender voters used \ntheir voting rights.These people realise the importance of voting.
