The London Olympic bronze \nmedallist will next square off against second seeded Japanese Nozomi \nOkuhara.While Saina was plotting the downfall of Chochuwong, her husband\n and fellow shuttler Parupalli Kashyap, was locked in a fierce battle \nwith reigning Olympic champion, Chen Long of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kashyap, a \n2014 Commonwealth Games champion, stretched Chen to three games before \nnarrowly losing 9-21 21-15 16-21 to the fourth seeded Chinese, who had \nreached the finals at Malaysia Open last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sameer Verma \ncontinued his impressive run, beating China\u2019s Lu Guangzu 21-15 21-18, to\n set up a clash with either second seeded Taipei player Chou Tien Chen \nor Denmark\u2019s Jan O Jorgensen.Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy also\n entered the quarterfinals after stunning world no 11 Hong Kong pair of \nTang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet 21-17 6-21 21-19 in a 50-minute clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier\n in the day, Sindhu led throughout in the first game after opening up a \n3-0 advantage but in the second game, she was locked in a tight battle \nwith Mia till 8-8.
