The US has advised its citizens to reconsider their travel to Pakistan due to terrorism and asked them not to travel to restive Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, identified as the most dangerous areas due to terror attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Pakistan in general \nhas been placed in \u201cLevel Three\u201d category in the latest travel advisory \nissued by the US on Monday, several parts of the country, including \nBalochistan, KPK province, PoK and India-Pakistan border, have been \nplaced in the most dangerous \u201cLevel Four\u201d category, in which US citizens\n are asked not to travel due to high risk areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asserting that \nterror groups continue plotting possible attacks in Pakistan, the State \nDepartment said that terrorists may attack with little or no warning, \ntargeting transportation hubs, markets, shopping malls, military \ninstallations, airports, universities, tourist locations, schools, \nhospitals, places of worship and government facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDo not \ntravel to Balochistan province,\u201d the State Department said, adding that \nactive terrorist groups, an active separatist movement, sectarian \nconflicts and deadly terrorist attacks against civilians, government \noffices and security forces destabilise the province. Similarly, in the \nPoK, it warned that militant groups are known to operate in the area and\n the threat of armed conflict between India and Pakistan remains. \n\u201cIndian and Pakistani military forces periodically exchange gun and \nartillery fire across the Line of Control ,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTerrorists\n have targeted US diplomats and diplomatic facilities in the past, and \ninformation suggests they continue to do so,\u201d it said. Terrorist attacks\n continue to happen across Pakistan, with most occurring in Balochistan \nand Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including former Federally Administered Tribal \nAreas. Large-scale terrorist attacks have resulted in hundreds of \ncasualties, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noting that India and Pakistan maintain a \nstrong military presence on both sides of the border, the travel \nadvisory said the only official Pakistan-India border crossing point for\n persons who are not citizens of India or Pakistan is in the province of\n Punjab between Wagah and Attari. \u201cDo not travel to KPK province, which \nincludes the former FATA,\u201d the advisory said.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
