Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat and President Army Wives Welfare Association Madhulika Rawat arrived in Port Blair on a three-day visit to Andaman and Nicobar Command\u00a0 on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On arrival at INS \nUtkrosh, General Bipin Rawat was received by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, \nCommander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command . Thereafter, the Army\n Chief left for Cellular Jail for wreath laying ceremony at Amar Jyoti. \nThe Army Chief, accompanied by AWWA President, also called on Lt \nGovernor Andaman & Nicobar Islands Admiral DK Joshi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, \nat Headquarters of Andaman and Nicobar Command, General Rawat was given \nan overview on joint services and strategic aspects of the Andaman &\n Nicobar Command and was briefed on the Army Component\u2019s operational \npreparedness and amphibious capabilities in the Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Army\n Chief will visit the newly raised Territorial Army Battalion at \nCampbell Bay and Air Force Station Car Nicobar. At both the places he \nwill interact with troops and officers. The General will also inspect \nMilitary Station Birchgunj and review its infrastructure and operational\n areas. He will also be briefed on Naval operations at Naval wharf and \nfamiliarized with ANC\u2019s area of operations, during his visit.
