{"id":5939,"date":"2017-09-25T11:11:19","date_gmt":"2017-09-25T11:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=5939"},"modified":"2017-09-25T11:11:19","modified_gmt":"2017-09-25T11:11:19","slug":"admit-colour-blind-in-mbbs-says-sc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/admit-colour-blind-in-mbbs-says-sc\/","title":{"rendered":"Admit colour blind in MBBS, says SC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi<br \/>\nThe Supreme Court has opened the doors for colour-blind students to pursue the MBBS course by ordering admission of two such candidates, who have scored high marks in the entrance test, for the next academic year.<\/p>\n<p>Terming its action as \u201ctranscendental importance of justice\u201d, the apex court said peculiar facts and circumstances of the case required it to invoke special powers under Article 142 of the Constitution. The two students had secured high marks in the entrance examination conducted by the Tripura government in 2015 during the pre-NEET period.<\/p>\n<p>Without any statutory provision barring students from pursuing the MBBS course, various colleges and Medical Council of India (MCI) were arbitrarily denying admissions to candidates suffering from Colour Vision Deficiency (CVD), popularly called colour blindness. The SC on March 23 constituted an experts\u2019 committee to ascertain whether CVD affected the prospects of students aspiring to be doctors.
