Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is here for the special screening of his film Zero at the Beijing International Film Festival, believes India and China should co-produce films that highlight family values, a link that binds together both the cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actor said cinema and art \nspeak to people beyond language and they will always be at the centre of\n people-to-people dialogue.\u201cTechnology, exports and imports all that is \ngoing to happen but cinema is always going to be at the forefront or art\n is going to be at the front of people-to-people exchanges,\u201d Shah Rukh \nsaid in an interview to state-run CGTN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCulture, reading, \nwritings, these are going to be the things that are going to enhance \npeople-to-people connect because the language of art is beyond semantics\n and understanding and the actual grammar,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I \nwalked out, suddenly they screamed and for a moment I thought they were \ndoing it for something else or someone else, now I have gotten to know \nthat they were from Xinjiang. Thank you everyone from Xinjiang for much \nlove, so many hugs and so many kisses,\u201d Shah Rukh said in the interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bollywood\n movies are very popular in Xinjiang, the sprawling Chinese province \nbordering India where Uygur Muslims of Turkik origin are a majority and \nShah Rukh is a popular celebrity there.Later, talking at the dialogue \nforum of the festival on Thursday, Shah Rukh said, \u201cWe should work on \nthe story that everybody wants to do. India China co-production should \nnot be based on making an expensive movie. Rather it should be based on a\n better story\u2026 It should be about our family values, our culture, our \nown feelings that should make this film; in which there is a message \nbecause emotionally we are connected to both the people of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\n future of films is in co-production. Films should go ahead with \nentertainment, should go beyond business. Movies are a valuable item, \nwhose future is very bright.\u201d \u201cIn India, language, culture, religion and\n costumes change every two kilometres. Therefore, we must go ahead and \nintroduce Indian culture and India to the world. Movies are changing \nevery twenty years in the world, but family values and people\u2019s feelings\n are the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have also grown up seeing very good Chinese \nmovies, whose English dubbing was very bad. The story of India and \nChinese films is one messages, emotions, sentiments and family values \nare one, he said. \u201cI would not like someone to dub for me, I will rather\n play a quiet guy who only sings and dances,\u201d he said, adding that he \ngrew up watching Chinese kung-fu movies and it would be great if he \ncould be a part of Chinese production in some way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank you so \nmuch for being so kind. I least expected this, that there would be so \nmany people here who like me and it\u2019s very sweet of you. By God\u2019s grace,\n I will get some wonderful films to China and when you write to me or \nmessage me please send me some good Chinese films every year, at least \n10 good Chinese movies to watch.
