After Saina Nehwal\u2019s biopic, Parineeti Chopra has bagged yet another big project. The 30-year-old actor has been signed for the Hindi remake of Tate Taylor\u2019s 2016 thriller The Girl on the Train. It will be helmed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who is currently busy with Netflix series Bard of Blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Confirming\n the news, Shibasish Sarkar, group CEO of Reliance Entertainment, said, \n\u201cNot only is The Girl On The Train, one of the best psychological \nthrillers but also a heartwarming story of the female protagonist and \nher discovery of life. We have procured the rights of the book and the \nfilm and will be adapting it from an Indian storytelling perspective. \nAmblin will be a partner in this film.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Girl on the Train, \nstarring Emily Blunt, was an official adaptation of Paul Hawkins \nbestseller of the same name. It was bankrolled by Amblin Partners, \nDreamWorks, Marc Platt Productions and Reliance Entertainment.The film \nchronicled the story of an alcoholic divorcee who rides a train every \nday and idolises a couple as her train passes through their house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But\n one day she gets involved in the investigation of a missing person. It \nalso starred Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke \nEvans, Allison Janney, \u00c9dgar Ram\u00edrez and Lisa Kudrow.Excited about \nworking on the yet-to-be-titled project, Parineeti Chopra said, \u201cI want \nto do roles that audiences haven\u2019t seen me in before and ones that \nrequire a lot of prep and homework, which is why The Girl On The Train \nreally worked for me. The character is an alcoholic and a victim of \nabuse, and I haven\u2019t explored anything like her onscreen before\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s\n exciting because I never thought I\u2019d actually be doing a film around a \nbook I\u2019ve read and loved. I relate to the character because I\u2019ve studied\n and worked in London, it\u2019s my second home. I even know the tube maps \ninside out. I can\u2019t wait to start shooting the film and relive those \ndays and I hope people enjoy seeing me in a completely new avatar in \nthis film.\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
