Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe on Friday took collective responsibility and apologized for failure to protect victims of Sunday attacks which killed 253 people including 40 foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime \nminister statement came as President Maithripala Sirisena told a press\n conference that highly descriptive information was given by a \nfriendly nation on 4th of this month and it included targets and methods\n of the Sunday attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said until the 12th of April, this \ninformation was passed around and action will be taken against all \nofficials who neglected their duties.Sirisena assured that security \nforces are capable of wiping out terrorism from the country and restore \nnormalcy soon as crackdown on suspects behind the attacks continue. \nSeven people were arrested along with explosives and suicide vests in \neastern province Friday evening as situation remain tense over further \nattacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President said there are around 140 suspects believed to\n be linked to Islamic State in the country adding many of them have \nbeen arrested and a hunt is on for the rest. He said the armed forces \nand intelligence setup was weakened over past years and it was one of \nthe main reasons for his rift with the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sirisena added\n that top intelligence officers were harassed and he had to even send a \nfew on overseas appointments to help them.
