{"id":60393,"date":"2019-05-01T11:39:28","date_gmt":"2019-05-01T11:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=60393"},"modified":"2019-05-01T11:39:30","modified_gmt":"2019-05-01T11:39:30","slug":"special-counsel-mueller-complained-to-barr-about-his-summary-of-russia-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/special-counsel-mueller-complained-to-barr-about-his-summary-of-russia-probe\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Special Counsel Mueller complained to Barr about his summary of Russia probe\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Special  Counsel Robert Mueller complained in a letter to Attorney General  William Barr that his four-page summary of Mueller\u2019s Russia report \u201cdid  not fully capture the context, nature, and substance\u201d of the  investigation\u2019s conclusions, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n Post said it reviewed a copy of Mueller\u2019s letter, which was written in \nlate March after Barr released a summary on March 24 that said Mueller \ndid not establish that members of President Donald Trump\u2019s campaign \nconspired with Russia during the 2016 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement in\n response to the Post report, House of Representatives Judiciary \nCommittee Chairman Jerry Nadler said Barr \u201cshould not have taken it upon\n himself to describe the Special Counsel\u2019s findings in a light more \nfavorable to the President.\u201d The Democratic lawmaker demanded the \nJustice Department release a copy of Mueller\u2019s letter by Wednesday \nmorning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barr\u2019s four-page summary was released more than three \nweeks before a redacted version of Mueller\u2019s 448-page report was \nreleased to the public on April 18.\u201cThe summary letter the Department \nsent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of \nMarch 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of \nthis office\u2019s work and conclusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barr also said in the summary\n that Mueller had not reached a conclusion on whether Trump obstructed \njustice. Barr said he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had \nfound the evidence insufficient to support such a charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justice\n Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec, in a statement, confirmed that \nMueller wrote to Barr after the summary was released to express \nfrustration over \u201cthe lack of context and the resulting media coverage,\u201d\n particularly about Mueller\u2019s conclusions on obstruction of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mueller\n asked Barr to release the report\u2019s introductions and executive \nsummaries quickly, without waiting for the full report to go through the\n redaction process.\u201cRelease at this time would alleviate the \nmisunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and \npublic questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation,\u201d \nMueller wrote, according to the Post.
