{"id":60489,"date":"2019-05-03T10:03:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-03T10:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=60489"},"modified":"2019-05-03T10:03:35","modified_gmt":"2019-05-03T10:03:35","slug":"punjab-police-recovers-2-38-cr-in-priests-missing-money-case-nabs-5-accused","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/punjab-police-recovers-2-38-cr-in-priests-missing-money-case-nabs-5-accused\/","title":{"rendered":"PUNJAB POLICE RECOVERS 2.38 CR IN PRIEST\u2019S MISSING MONEY CASE, NABS 5 ACCUSED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>TAKES REMAND OF TWO ASIs ARRESTED IN KOCHI<\/strong><br>Chandigarh<br>Acting  swiftly in the Jalandhar priest\u2019s missing money case, the special  investigation team of the Punjab Police, in coordinated operations on  Thursday, successfully recovered Rs. 2. 38 crores in the wake of the  arrest of five persons from Sangrur and Patiala involved in siphoning  off the funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the \nPunjab Police said the money was recovered from the accused on the basis\n of revelations made by two ASIs, who were arrested on Tuesday during \ntheir interrogation by Punjab Police, in Kochi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the \nday, a team of Punjab Police took over the custody of the two ASIs &#8211; \nJoginder Singh and Rajpreet Singh, from the Kerala Police at Kochi. Both\n were presented before CJM Kochi who gave transit remand and the accused\n were being brought back to Punjab today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to DGP Punjab\n Police, Dinkar Gupta, who immediately tweeted information about the \nrecovery, further investigations were in progress and all efforts were \nbeing made to unravel the entire chain of events and recover the full \namount alleged to have been embezzled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Divulging further, the \nspokesperson said that in operations carried out by state police teams \nof different districts in Punjab, Rs 1 Crore was recovered from Nirmal \nSingh s\/o Lt. Kehar Singh r\/o village Raipur PS Jorian Distt. Mansa, who\n is yet to be arrested. The recovery was made in the presence of some \nrespectable villagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the seizures made by Patiala police, \nwhile Rs 40 Lakhs were recovered from Surinderpal @ Chiri s\/o Ram Swarup\n r\/o ward no. 3, Patran and Rs 20 Lakhs from Mohd. Shakeel s\/o Mohd. \nJameel, r\/o H. no. 1239 Balbeer Khan Colony Patiala, in addition to Rs \n30 Lakhs recovered from HC Amrik Singh no. 2007\/Patiala s\/o Joginder \nSingh R\/O Danewal PS Jhuner Distt. Mansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of arrests \nmade by Sangrur Police, Rs 30 Lakhs was confiscated from Devinder Kumar @\n Kala s\/o Hem Raj r\/o Ward no.2, near Grid Colony, Moonak, PS Moonak, \nDistt Sangrur, besides recovery of Rs 18 Lakhs from Sanjeev Kumar s\/o \nKarnail Singh r\/o Rampur Gujjran, PS Moonak, Distt. Sangrur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \nspokesperson further said that one of the accused, Surinderpal Sharma, \nwas released on bail u\/s 437 CrPC, as he was on bed due to a recent \ncardiac surgery. Bail bonds were furnished by him, cash was recovered \nand seized and taken into possession by the Police.
