{"id":60564,"date":"2019-05-04T10:57:58","date_gmt":"2019-05-04T10:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=60564"},"modified":"2019-05-04T10:57:59","modified_gmt":"2019-05-04T10:57:59","slug":"un-agency-praises-india-on-minimising-loss-of-life-from-cyclone-fani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/un-agency-praises-india-on-minimising-loss-of-life-from-cyclone-fani\/","title":{"rendered":"UN agency praises India on minimising loss of life from Cyclone Fani"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The  UN agency for disaster reduction has commended the Indian  Meteorological Department&#8217;s almost pinpoint accuracy of early warnings  that helped authorities conduct a well-targeted evacuation plan and  minimize the loss of life as extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani made  landfall near the coastal city of Puri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special Representative of\n the United Nations Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction, and \nHead of the Geneva-based UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Mami \nMizutori said that India&#8217;s zero-casualty approach to managing extreme \nweather events is a major contribution to the implementation of the \nSendai Framework and the reduction of loss of life from such events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mizutori\n was referring to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction \n2015-2030, the first major agreement of the post-2015 development \nagenda.
