Steve Smith and David Warner are set to don the Australian colours this week for the first time since their ball-tampering bans despite struggling with illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pair were welcomed back into the national fold \nlast week for a pre-World Cup camp in Brisbane after serving year-long \nsuspensions for their part in the \u201csandpapergate\u201d scandal in Cape Town \nthat rocked the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both have been hampered by viruses since \nreturning from the Indian Premier League but took part in net sessions \non Sunday ahead of the first of three practice games against New Zealand\n beginning on Monday.Allrounder Glenn Maxwell said he was confident they\n will be fit to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duo have enjoyed a solid comeback in \nthe Twenty20 IPL, with Warner in blistering form, topping the \ncompetition batting rankings with 692 runs from 12 innings.Coach Justin \nLanger on Friday insisted there was \u201cno tension\u201d between the pair and \nthe rest of the squad, adding: \u201cThey\u2019re back in the team now. They\u2019ve \nbeen selected, which is brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maxwell also denied any \nawkward moments, saying it had been \u201cbusiness as usual\u201d.\u201cAnd they are \nboth superstars. I watched both of them go about it and they were both \nabsolutely brilliant over there.\u201cThere will be no worries about them \ncoming back into the team.\u201dWith Australia\u2019s defence of their World Cup \ncrown less than a month away, Langer will use the three warm-up games to\n fine-tune his plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team has been in red-hot form, winning \neight one-day internationals on the trot, against India and Pakistan, \nbuilt on a flourishing opening partnership between Aaron Finch and Usman\n Khawaja.
