Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said the BJP would not return to power after the 2019 Lok Sabha election and taunted the PM saying the Army is not his personal property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Army is not the personal \nproperty of PM Modi. The Army, Navy, Air Force are of the country and \nnot of one person. The Congress never politicised the armed forces. \nSurgical strikes happened before and the Army did those,\u201d Gandhi said \naddressing a press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the Congress and other \nparties were one in fighting against terrorism, but he wanted to ask the\n PM as to who sent terrorist Masood Azhar to Pakistan. \u201cThe Congress \ngovernment did not release Azhar. Who released him from the Indian jail?\n The BJP government released him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congress will do a much \nbetter job with national security because we have a history,\u201d the \nCongress chief said, adding that the Army had won every war it had \nfought and it is unfortunate for the PM to politicise it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said\n more than half the election is over and there is now a clear sense that\n PM Modi is not returning to power.\u201cWe also want to ask the PM what his \ndelivery on the 2014 poll promises is. Where are the two crore jobs? \nWhere is Rs 15 lakh? It\u2019s is all well to talk of nationalism but he \nshould also answer development questions,\u201d Gandhi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur Army\n has won all the wars. It\u2019s terrific. So the BJP should stop \npoliticising the Army,\u201d Gandhi said, adding that the Congress had \ndelivered on its poll promises in the states where it is in power and \nwould also deliver on its Lok Sabha manifesto promises.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
