Actor Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday afternoon informed his fans that he is cancelling the weekly meet and greet ritual at his home due to ill health. The 76-year-old actor, who sees his admirers every Sunday at his house Jalsa in Juhu since past 36 years, said he might be in pain but fans need not worry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bachchan meets fans outside his home, Jalsa\n every Sunday. Hundreds come to meet him from across the country and the\n actor waves at them from the premises of his home. He often shares \nphotos from the Sunday meeting on social media. He is at times \naccompanied by his family members as he waves to his fans including \ndaughter Shweta Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan. He had \nrecently written with one such post, \u201cand the Sunday love continues .. \nhumbled beyond compare .. From 1982 to 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amitabh Bachchan \nsuffers from Hepatitis B. He had said at an event earlier, \u201cHepatitis B \ncame to me accidentally. After my accident on the sets of Coolie, I was \ninfused with the blood of about 200 donors and 60 bottles of blood were \ninjected into my system. The Australian antigen Hepatitis B had only \nbeen detected three months ago and it was very new for being detected \nalso among various tests needed to be carried out before giving blood to\n another patient. One of my blood donors was carrying Hepatitis B virus \nwhich went into my system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I continued to function normally till \nyear 2000 and almost 18 years after the accident, during a very normal \nmedical checkup, I was told that my liver was infected and I had lost 75\n per cent of my liver. So, if I am standing here today, you are looking \nat a person who is surving with 25 per cent of liver. That is the bad \npart. The good part is you can survive even with 12%.
