Ratan Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, has invested in domestic ride-sharing company Ola\u2019s newly-launched electric vehicle arm Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd as part of its Series A round of funding, the cab aggregator announced on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe electric vehicle ecosystem is evolving \ndramatically everyday, and I believe Ola Electric will play a key role \nin its growth and development. I have always admired the vision of \nBhavish Aggarwal and I\u2019m confident that this will be part of yet another\n important strategic move into this new business area,\u201d Tata said in a \nstatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OEMPL is \ncurrently running several pilots involving charging solutions, battery \nswapping stations, and deploying vehicles across two, three and \nfour-wheeler segments.\u201cHe is a visionary who has inspired a generation \nof entrepreneurs and we are privileged to have his guidance and support \nonce again, as we work towards our goal of a million electric vehicles \nin India by 2021.\u201d OEMPL has raised Rs 400 crore, led by several of \nOla\u2019s early investors, including Tiger Global and Matrix India, as part \nof its first round of investment.
