Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday condemned the killing of BJP leader Gul Muhammad Mir and ordered an inquiry into the killing of political activists belonging to various parties in the state in the last few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor also asked state chief secretary B V\n R Subrahmanyam to identify any lapses on the part of security agencies \nin ensuring security of political activists, an official spokesman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\n Governor spoke to K Vijay Kumar, Adviser to the Governor, and directed \nhim to ensure early arrest of those responsible for the killing and \nspare no one who tries to create fear and panic among the people, the \nspokesman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the Governor directed the Chief Secretary\n to get an inquiry conducted into the killings of political people \nbelonging to various parties in the state in the last few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Expressing\n grief over the loss of life, the Governor in a condolence message has \nprayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved \nfamily in its hour of grief, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spokesman said Malik \nhas conveyed that immediately after the opening of Governor\u2019s \nSecretariat in Srinagar, he would call a high-level meeting to review \nthe safety and security aspects of all political leaders and sarpanches \nin the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spokesman said Malik has asked for identifying \nany lapses on the part of security agencies in ensuring security of \npolitical activists and has emphasised that from now onwards, all \npolitical people should be protected at every cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
