The business end of the IPL mattered a lot and Mumbai Indians had made it a habit of coming back stronger at the latter stages of the T20 tournament, said skipper Rohit Sharma after sealing a place in the Qualifier 1.MI on Sunday thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by nine wickets here to finish at the top of the table after the league stages ahead of CSK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Rohit described the IPL as a funny tournament in which \nany team could beat any other on a particular day.\u201cIt is something we \nknow about the IPL that the business end matters; we always come back \nwell in the second half of this tournament. In all the three trophies \nthat we\u2019ve won, the boys have picked themselves up in the business end,\u201d\n Rohit said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI definitely look at myself as a four-over bowler. I\n am ready to do whatever my team wants me to do, bowl four, 10 or even \n15 overs in a Test match. We have one more bowling option and it helps \nwhen somebody has an off day,\u201d he added.\u201cKrunal (his brother) was \ntelling me that I generate the power from my hip and core, but I really \ndon\u2019t know where I get my power from.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rohit credited Sunday\u2019s \neasy win to team effort. \u201cIt was the team effort that pleased me the \nmost. We don\u2019t depend on a few individuals to take us through; there are\n a lot of characters who put their hands up and took us through,\u201d the \ncaptain said.On a personal note, he said, \u201cMy daughter has been coming \nhere every day to watch me play, but I didn\u2019t get a lot of runs earlier.\n It was nice to get some runs today, but she was sleeping.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MI \nall-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was named man of the match for his \nbowling figures of 3 for 20 in KKR\u2019s total of 133 for 7, said getting \nthe award for his effort with the ball was pleasing.\u201cTo be honest as a \nbatsman, there is nothing better than hitting a ball. People don\u2019t \nexpect a lot from my bowling, neither do I, but it feels nice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked\n about MI\u2019s Qualifier 1 match against CSK, Hardik said, \u201cDefinitely, \nChennai is a different challenge, it will be a cracker of a game. We \njust hope to get the best out of that one and go through to the \nfinals.\u201dKKR captain Dinesh Karthik said his side failed to get the \nmomentum after powerplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe simply did not get going. When we \nbatted, the wicket was not easy for stroke-making and the ball was \ncertainly stopping a bit. The Mumbai bowlers were good at bowling \ncutters and they exploited that extremely well.
