State Bank of India chairman Rajnish Kumar Friday said the lenders have received two \u201cunsolicited\u201d bids for Jet Airways and \u201cone\u201d more is expected by the end of the day, keeping the hopes for the revival of the grounded carrier alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo unsolicited bidders have submitted \nEoI for Jet and we are expecting one more bid by the end of the day,\u201d \nKumar said told reporters at the earnings conference here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \nconsortium of 26 lenders, led by State Bank which now owns 51 percent in\n the airline, had invited expressions of interest between April 8 and 12\n and had received four preliminary bids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Friday is the last day \nto submit financial bids and media reports said none of the four bidders\n private equity firms IndiGo Partners and TPG, and Jet\u2019s strategic \npartner Etihad and the country\u2019s sovereign wealth fund NIIF are unlikely\n to submit financial bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lenders are offering 31.2-75 \npercent stake in the company on a fully diluted basis. Currently, the \nairline owes Rs 8,000 crore to the lenders. Jet Airways stopped \noperations on April 17 due to acute financial distress.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
