The BJP can never be an \u201cindividual-centric\u201d party as it is based on ideology, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, denying allegations that the party had become \u201cModi-centric\u201d.He also dismissed the possibility of a fractured mandate and claimed the party would get more seats than the last Lok Sabha polls. \u201cBJP neither became Atal or Advaniji\u2019s party in the past, nor it can ever be only Amit Shah or Narendra Modi\u2019s party,\u201d he said in an interview to PTI at his residence here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He, however, said the \nBJP and PM Modi were \u201ccomplementary to each other\u201d. Asked whether \u201cModi \nis BJP and BJP is Modi\u201d on the lines of \u201cIndira is India and India is \nIndira\u201d slogan given by then Congress president DK Barooah during \nEmergency in 1976, Gadkari said the party could never be \n\u201cindividual-centric\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBJP as a party can never be \nindividual-centric. It is an ideology-based party. There can be no \n\u2018family-rule\u2019 in the BJP. It is a wrong notion that the party has become\n Modi-centric. Party\u2019s parliamentary board takes all decisions,\u201d he \nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He rubbished the claims that BJP was fighting polls on \nnationalism instead of its work or achievements in the past five years \nand said people would vote the party back to power with full majority \nsupporting its development agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOpposition has tried to bring\n in poison of casteism and communalism in the polls to derail the BJP\u2019s \ndevelopment agenda, but I am sure people will be with us and we will \nform the government with full majority,\u201d he said.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
