State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing crusade against corruption, has been able to nab 12 employees and 2 private persons red handed while accepting bribes in 10 different trap cases during the month of April, which includes 4 police personnel, 2 employees of revenue department and 6 from other departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Disclosing this, Chief \nDirector-cum-ADGP vigilance bureau Punjab B.K. Uppal said the VB has put\n up its best efforts to eradicate corruption amongst public servants and\n others in every sphere during the period. In this direction, the \nvigilance officers have ensured that suspect did not escape judicial \npunishment in the various courts in the State, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said \nthe Bureau has submitted challans pertaining to 13 vigilance cases in \nvarious special courts in the last month. Apart from this, one case has \nbeen registered for making disproportionate assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Giving more \ndetails, he informed that special courts have decided two bribery cases \nfiled and contested by the Bureau during the last month, in which Pramod\n Singh, Junior Assistant, posted at Improvement Trust Rupnagar was \nconvicted and sentenced with 4 years imprisonment and fine of Rs. \n10,000\/- by the Additional Session Judge, SAS NagarSimilarly, In another\n case , Ram Lubhaiya, District Manager, posted at Punjab Schedule Caste \nLand Development and Financial Corporation, Barnala was convicted and \nsentenced with 2 years imprisonment and fine of Rs. 10,000\/- by the \nAdditional Session Judge, Barnala.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
