Suicides by farmers, unemployment, drugs and sacrilege are the main issues<\/strong>

Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday released its election manifesto in Amritsar. The manifesto was released by SAD (Taksali) president and MP from Khadoor Sahib, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura in the presence of its senior vice president Dr. Rattan Singh Ajnala and secretary general Sewa Singh Sekhwan and general secretary Manmohan Singh Sathiala. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing\n the media during the release of its manifesto, Brahmpura said that \nsuicides by the farmers, unemployment of youth, menace of drugs and \nsacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib are the main issues for his party.\u201cOur \nparty is committed to the improvement of fiscal health of the farmers \nwho are committing suicides daily because of the huge debt on them as \nthe fail to get the good prices of their crops. Even the congress and \nBJP governments in centre have failed to implement Swaminathan report to\n give the farmers the fair price of their crops. Besides it, the \nunemployed youth is running abroad in search of jobs and studies because\n our respective governments have failed to generate enough jobs to \naccommodate them. Even Captain Amarinder Singh had made tall promises to\n waive farm loans and provide Ghar Ghar Naukri, but did nothing on the \nground level,\u201d said Brahmpura addressing the media persons here.

Criticizing\n the captain government for the increase in the drug supply, Brahmpura \nsaid that instead of the braking the chain of drug supply to save the \nyouth, drug abuse is rather on the increase.\u201d We want to stop it. It is \npossible if the government is sincere to check the drug supply by \nbraking police-political nexus,\u201d said Brahmpura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Replying to \nanother query by the media that Badals say that sacrilege is now an old \nissue, Brahmpura said that it is a major issue for his party.\u201dBehbal \nKalan police firing on the innocent protesters and sacrilege incidents \nin Bargari are Burj Jawahar Singh wala are major issues for us. Such \nissues never get outdated. They rather go down in to the history as they\n get old. Even the Sikhs have not forgotten the operation Blue star and \nmassacre of Sikhs in 1984. Badals are sinners and they avoid this \nissue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manifesto of the SAD (Taksali) has also \nlisted the long pending demands of the state in it.\u201dPunjab even has not a\n capital of its own. We also want Chandigarh to be handed over to \nPunjab. Besides it, we also want the right of the state on all of its \nriver waters according to Riparian law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No water of the state \nwould be allowed to be given to any other state as Punjab has no surplus\n water. We also promise government jobs to youth by finishing the \npresent contract system in full pay scales,\u201d Brahmpura said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Replying\n to another query by media, its secretary general Sewa Singh Sekhwan \nsaid that SAD(Taksali) would not seek support from any such party or \noutfit whose connections are with Badals or the BJP. “we shall seek \nsupport of all like minded parties and go to people, but no support from\n anybody elase by ignoring the principals of the party,” he added.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
