After Enforcement of Model Code of Conduct come in the state in view of Lok Sabha polls, the enforcement teams have seized cash, liquor, psychotropic substances and valuables worth Rs. 283 crore in violation of code till May 16, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Giving details in this regard, the \nChief Electoral Officer Dr. S Karuna Raju said that the surveillance \nteams had seized 1351369 litres of liquor worth Rs 10 crore. Similarly, \nthe enforcement wings have also recovered 8102 kg psychotropic \nsubstances amounting to Rs 218 crore and valuable like ( Gold, Silver \netc) amounting to Rs. 22.56 crore besides confiscating unaccounted cash\n of Rs 32.07 crore, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Electoral Officer \nrevealed that 3743 persons have been identified, who can create \ndisturbance, said he adding that out of these persons action had already\n been initiated against 3749 while the remaining would also be brought \nto book. He informed there were 400 non bailable warrant cases under \nprocess in the state of which action had been initiated against 4855 \npersons under non bailable warrants after the enforcement of Model Code \nof Conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the directions of the election commission, Dr.\n Raju said till date 97% licensed weapons had been surrendered and 142 \nillegal arms and 873 illegal ammunitions were also confiscated in the \nstate.
