Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to visit \u2018mohalla clinics and schools\u2019 in Delhi while asserting that he would examine the possibility of integrating the Centre\u2019s Ayushman Bharat programme with his government\u2019s health scheme in the national capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kejriwal, who has been a vocal critic of Modi, also assured the prime minister of full cooperation, changing his stand less than a month after the BJP registered a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha elections.Since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in 2015, there have been several confrontations between the Centre and Kejriwal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kejriwal\u2019s assurance to the Centre is being seen as a shift in his stand over the implementation of the Central government\u2019s healthcare scheme in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier this month, the Delhi CM had said that the AAP government\u2019s healthcare scheme was \u201cten times bigger and comprehensive\u201d than the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AAP national convener, his ministers and party leaders have often accused the Modi government of creating hurdles for the AAP-led Delhi government.The meeting in Parliament House was the first since the general election results were announced on May 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To develop Delhi, capital city of India, it is imp that Del govt Centre work together ,\u201d Kejriwal said in a tweet.Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain too had said that the Ayushman Bharat scheme would not be implemented in the national capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the \u2018Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna \u2019, the government aims to provide health protection cover to 50 crore poor people. So far, about 26 lakh poor patients have benefitted from the scheme by availing treatment in hospitals.According to Kejriwal, he also invited the prime minister to visit \u2018mohalla clinics\u2019 and government schools in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
