{"id":65735,"date":"2019-07-11T11:51:23","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T11:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=65735"},"modified":"2019-07-11T11:51:24","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T11:51:24","slug":"nepals-sc-stays-government-move-to-roll-back-testing-of-indian-vegetables-and-fruits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/nepals-sc-stays-government-move-to-roll-back-testing-of-indian-vegetables-and-fruits\/","title":{"rendered":"Nepal&#8217;s SC stays government move to roll back testing of Indian vegetables and fruits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nepal&#8217;s Supreme Court has stayed the government&#8217;s move of rolling back its earlier decision to check permitted levels of pesticides in vegetables and fruits imported from India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A single bench of Justice Anandamohan Bhattarai issued the ruling on Wednesday asked the government authorities to continue testing of imported vegetables and fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the Nepal government had put on hold its earlier decision to conduct a test of vegetables and fruits imported from India at the customs points to ascertain levels of pesticide residue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government said it had put on hold testing of pesticides in imported vegetables and fruits due to lack of infrastructure facilities to conduct such tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Public Interest Litigation was filed by two advocates at the Supreme Court on Tuesday against the government&#8217;s move of rolling back its earlier decision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 17, the Government of Nepal had instructed its border authorities to test the level of pesticide before allowing Indian vegetables and fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the instructions, hundreds of trucks have been stuck at various border points.
