He replaces Lt Gen D Anbu, who retires on August 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lt Gen Naravane is the senior-most Army commander after the present Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat. He is in line to replace Gen Rawat, who retires December 31 this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lt Gen Anil Chauhan will be the new Eastern Command chief, replacing Gen Naravane. Lt Gen R P Singh will be heading the Chandimandir-based Western Command, replacing Lt Gen Surinder Singh who retires on July 31.Lt Gen A S Kler will be heading the Jaipur-based South-Western Command.
