In other encounters in the Men&#8217;s Singles category, Parupalli Kashyap defeated Zilberman M of Israel 18-21, 21-08, 21-14 while Pranoy H S defeated Wong W. K. V. of Hong Kong 21-16, 22-20.However, Saurabh Varma lost to  K. Tsunemaya of Japan 21-23, 21-19, 5-21 while Shubankar Day got a walkover on Momota K  of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India&#8217;s mixed doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa recorded a win over Olympic silver medallists Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying 21-16, 21-13 while pair of Pranoy Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy defeated K Gondo and A.
