{"id":70406,"date":"2019-09-15T09:12:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-15T09:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=70406"},"modified":"2019-09-15T09:12:39","modified_gmt":"2019-09-15T09:12:39","slug":"bangladesh-school-project-wins-aga-khan-architecture-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/bangladesh-school-project-wins-aga-khan-architecture-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangladesh School project wins Aga Khan Architecture Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An innovative project for constructing a floating school for marginalised children in Bangladesh has been awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Architecture Award 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award was given away on Friday in Kajan, republic of Tatarastan for the Arcadia Education Project in South Kanarchor of Bangladesh.The project involved construction of a school in an area which is under water during the monsoon months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The architect of the project Saif Ul Haque designed a school which remains on the ground during dry season and floats when the area is submerged in water during monsoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He utilised only the local material-bamboo, used tyres and steel drums for constructing the amphibious structure for school.The workforce and artisans for the project were also drawn locally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Aga Khan Foundation in its citation lauded the project for its contribution to improve people&#8217;s lives, social and economic development, access to education in rural communities and global issues like rising water levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An innovative project for constructing a floating school for marginalised children in Bangladesh has been awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Architecture Award 2019.
