{"id":75223,"date":"2019-11-26T11:35:12","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T11:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=75223"},"modified":"2019-11-26T11:35:13","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T11:35:13","slug":"pak-court-takes-up-musharrafs-plea-against-impending-high-treason-case-verdict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/pak-court-takes-up-musharrafs-plea-against-impending-high-treason-case-verdict\/","title":{"rendered":"Pak court takes up Musharraf\u2019s plea against impending high treason case verdict"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Pakistani court on Monday directed Gen Pervez Musharraf\u2019s lawyer to submit arguments regarding the maintainability of a petition challenging the verdict reserved by a special court against the former military ruler in the high treason case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The special court had on November 19 concluded the trial proceedings in the high treason case against Musharraf for declaring a state of emergency in 2007 and had ruled that a verdict would be announced on November 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his petition, Musharraf asked the court to suspend the special court\u2019s reserved verdict until he is healthy enough to appear before the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musharraf, who is living in Dubai in self-exile, challenged the special court verdict in the Lahore High Court on Saturday and sought suspension of his trial in absentia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The high treason case against the former military dictator has been pending since December 2013.
