\nUnion Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said no power in the world can stop the government from resolving the Kashmir issue and hit out at<\/p>\n
Pakistan for its \u201cimpious\u201d activities against India.<\/p>\n
Rajnath said the NDA government had given a free hand to the Army to act against terrorists and give a befitting reply to any firing from across<\/p>\n
the border in Kashmir.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to say that nobody needs to be worried about Kashmir. No power in the world can stop us from resolving the issue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Addressing a gathering here in Surat district as part of the BJP\u2019s \u2018Gujarat Gaurav Yatra\u2019, Rajnath attacked Pakistan saying it was sending<\/p>\n
terrorists into India and wanted to break the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cPakistan is our neighbouring state. Its name is \u2018Pak\u2019-istan, but it regularly indulges in \u2018napaak\u2019 (impious) activities, tries to break India and<\/p>\n
sends terrorists into India,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried his best (for peaceful resolution of bilateral issues) considering that Pakistan is our neighbouring state.<\/p>\n
He even went to Pakistan breaking all protocol, but Pakistan is not refraining from its activities. This can\u2019t continue for long,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Home Minister said he had asked the Army to reply with bullets to Pakistani firing on the Kashmir border instead of showing the \u201cwhite flag\u201d<\/p>\n
(of peace).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have given a free hand to the Army. I have said you are free to act against terrorists,\u201d he said, adding this had resulted in a \u201crecord\u201d<\/p>\n
number of militants being killed in Jammu and Kashmir in 2016-17.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not need to tell you the numbers. Sometimes it is one (militant) in a day or two or four or six. Our jawans keep greeting them with \u2018Jai<\/p>\n
Sri Ram.\u2019 It has never happened before that militants have been killed in such a large number,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n
Rajnath recalled how a few months after the Modi government came to power in May 2014, he had given standing orders to the BSF Director-<\/p>\n
General to stop the practice of showing \u201cwhite flags\u201d to Pakistan in response to their firing at the Indo-Pak border.<\/p>\n
Rajnath said he came to know about the practice after he talked to the BSF chief following news that five Indian citizens had been killed in firing<\/p>\n
by Pakistani personnel.<\/p>\n
He (the BSF DG) \u201ctold me it is an old practice to show white flag in response to Pakistani firing… this is to tell them that we want peace. I asked<\/p>\n
