Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra today reviewed poll preparedness for Delhi Assembly Elections at the Election Commission Headquarters in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
District\n Election Officers DEOs, DCPs, Joint CPs, Chairman NDMC, MCD \nCommissioner and CEO of Delhi Cantonment Board and nodal officers of \nvarious enforcement agencies attended the meeting. The Commission also \nheld a separate meeting with Chief Secretary and Police Commissioner of \nDelhi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner called \nupon election officials to conduct a flawless election in the National \nCapital Territory of Delhi. Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa directed \nelection officials to respond promptly on the complaints received \nthrough C-Vigil app and pay attention to the EVM and VVPAT training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delhi\n Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Ranbir Singh made a brief presentation \nhighlighting the status of preparedness. He gave the status with regard \nto electoral rolls, manpower availability, EVMs, VVPATs, training of all\n elected officials, and SVEEP activities focusing and targeting low \nturnout areas for increasing the number of voter turnout. During the \nreview, Dr. Ranbir Singh informed the Commission regarding special \nmeasures taken for facilitating persons with disabilities and Senior \nCitizens voters including Pick and Drop facility. He also informed the \nCommission about the facilities being created at all Polling Station \nlocations like provision of cr\u00e8che facility, ramp, water facility, \nmobile locker, selfie point, waiting area, wheelchairs etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special\n Commissioner of Delhi Police Praveer Ranjan who is State Police Nodal \nOfficer made a presentation about the general law and order situation \nprevailing in Delhi and action being planned by Delhi Police to enforce \nall the measures as mandated by the Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission \nfurther directed all the DEOs to ensure the provision of assured minimum\n facilities including ramp and adequate facility of mobile toilets on \nlocations having more than 6 polling booths. The Commission directed \nall the local bodies to ensure that all facilities must be available at \nall polling locations strictly in line with the AMF standards prescribed\n by the Commission.
