May will be joined by her Brexit Minister David Davis for the dinner to discuss Thursday\u2019s summit of EU leaders \u2014 where Britain\u2019s departure from the block will be high on the agenda \u2014 the source said.<\/p>\n<p>Broader European and geopolitical issues will also be on the table at the meeting, which will be attended by May\u2019s Brexit adviser Olly Robbins and Juncker\u2019s cabinet chief Martin Selmayr, an EU source told AFP.<\/p>\n<p>While Downing Street insisted the meeting has been in the diary for weeks, the British premier\u2019s arrival in Brussels brings with it a sense of urgency after last week\u2019s disappointing Brexit talks.<\/p>\n<p>The fifth round of discussions ended on Thursday with EU negotiator Michel Barnier, who is also expected at today\u2019s dinner, warning the two sides were at an \u201cextremely disturbing\u201d deadlock over Britain\u2019s Brexit bill.<\/p>\n<p>Brussels has insisted on reaching progress on its three priorities \u2014 the exit bill, citizens\u2019 rights, and the border with Ireland \u2014 before moving on to talks of a future relationship with London.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>British Prime Minister Theresa May will travel to Brussels today to meet with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, ahead of a decisive EU summit this week, a Downing Street source said.
