{"id":78896,"date":"2020-01-24T11:04:57","date_gmt":"2020-01-24T11:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=78896"},"modified":"2020-01-24T11:04:58","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T11:04:58","slug":"world-court-says-it-has-preliminary-jurisdiction-in-myanmar-genocide-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/world-court-says-it-has-preliminary-jurisdiction-in-myanmar-genocide-case\/","title":{"rendered":"World Court says it has preliminary jurisdiction in Myanmar genocide case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The International Court of Justice said on Thursday that it has jurisdiction to hear a case against Myanmar seeking emergency measures to prevent it committing genocide against its Rohingya minority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presiding Judge Yusuf Abdulqawi, in the first minutes of reading the court\u2019s decision, said the court does have sufficient jurisdiction to decide on the request for emergency measures in the case, which was brought by Gambia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abdulqawi was still reading Thursday\u2019s ruling and has not said whether the court will actually order any emergencymeasures.
