{"id":8577,"date":"2017-10-26T11:29:53","date_gmt":"2017-10-26T11:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=8577"},"modified":"2017-10-26T14:21:52","modified_gmt":"2017-10-26T14:21:52","slug":"guv-honours-kin-of-cops-killed-during-militancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/guv-honours-kin-of-cops-killed-during-militancy\/","title":{"rendered":"Guv honours kin of cops killed during militancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abohar<br \/>\nPunjab Governor VP Singh Badnore today launched a Chandigarh Police\u2019s campaign to pay tributes to six UT police martyrs targeted during militancy by honouring Gayatri Devi, the widow of Jagjit Singh Jhajharia of Maujgarh village in Abohar sub-division.<\/p>\n<p>On July 17, 1988, Jhajharia died in an encounter with terrorists following a raid at a house in Chandigarh\u2019s Sector 45. Three terrorists were also killed in the encounter. He was posted as the SHO of Sector 39 police station at that time. He was awarded President\u2019s Police Medal for Gallantry posthumously on May 10, 1989.<\/p>\n<p>At a function at Jhajharia\u2019s alma mater Government High School, the Governor honoured Gayatri.
