\nApparently in a dilemma over whether to switch over to the Congress or remain with the SAD, local MP Sher Singh Ghubaya is keeping a low profile these days. He is rarely seen in his constituency, even though he made an appearance during Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh\u2019s recent visit here.<\/p>\n
His public interactions have been confined to Jalalabad, his native place. He is also conspicuous by his absence from Dhandi Kadeem, the village he had adopted under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.<\/p>\n
A senior Akali leader said on the condition of anonymity, \u201cGhubaya\u2019s wish to hold on to his seat till the end of his tenure has stopped him from quitting the SAD, even as he played a key role in getting his son Davinder Singh elected as the Congress MLA from Fazilka.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ghubaya had accused the Akalis of planning his \u201cpolitical murder\u201d by circulating a sleazy video, besides sending Vigilance sleuths to raid his engineering college. In the run-up to the Assembly polls early this year, he had hit out at SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and his \u201ccoterie\u201d for conspiring against him.<\/p>\n
Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, SAD spokesman, said the party was yet to take a decision on the matter.<\/p>\n
Ghubaya said, \u201cI have never intended to move away from the party, but my detractors within the SAD are hell-bent on portraying me in a bad light for their vested interests.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
