He said that Punjabi was a rich language which was the symbol of our glorious cultural heritage. Mr. Sidhu said that the state government was duty bound to make concerted efforts to give due place to the Punjabi language.<\/p>\n<p>Citing the example of France, the Minister said that every French resident take pride in conversing in their mother tongue. Mr. Sidhu said that everyone of us should follow the French people in promotion of their mother tongue from core of heart. \u201cI am proud to be a Punjabi and that&#8217;s why I love to speak my mother tongue\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also announced the state government would make concerted efforts to further showcase the famous Harivallabh Sangeet Samellan organized every year in the city on global level. He said that this festival was the basic essence of our rich culture and needs to be highlighted globally. Mr. Sidhu said that a detailed program for promotion of this mega event would be finalized in the coming few days.
