Tumhari Sulu actor Vidya Balan was in talks to essay the role of Meena Kumari in the Tigmanshu Dhulia directed biopic since a long time. But looks like after the actor\u2019s family issued a press statement about them not being happy with Vidya\u2019s casting, she chose to opt out of the project.<\/p>\n
Confirming the news, she told DNA, \u201cNo, I\u2019m not doing the Meena Kumari-biopic anymore. It didn\u2019t quite work out. I love Meena Kumari. If I had a girl crush on somebody, it would be her. If she was alive, I\u2019d probably land up to see her all the time. I am that fascinated by her. I always wanted to play her.\u201d Earlier, reports of Kangana Ranaut starring in the film were making the rounds. But due to Kangana\u2019s tight schedule, the film fell into Vidya Balan\u2019s lap.<\/p>\n
Telling more about her reasons that made her walk away, Vidya said, \u201cThe script has to do justice. It can\u2019t just be a sensational account of her life, even if she is not around. It has to present different episodes of her life and not just the ones that will grab eyeballs. So, I decided not to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recently, when Vidya joined singer Tulsi Kumar to announce Gulshan Kumar Film & Television Institute of India (GKFTII) in Noida on Tuesday, Vidya also talked about how it is very important for an actor to be shameless and fearless. \u201cIt is very important for an actor to be shameless, should have no apprehensions, fearless and be \u2018bindass\u2019,\u201d said<\/p>\n
On the film front, Vidya is looking forward to her upcoming film Tumhari Sulu. Directed by Suresh Tiwari, the story of Tumhari Sulu revolves around a middle-aged housewife Sulochona aka Sulu who is a happy-go-lucky person with an extraordinary calibre.<\/p>\n
And for Vidya, Tumhari Sulu is a happy film. \u201cPeople are saying that it is a slice of life film and tells story of a middle class family\u2026 Sulu is a very energetic woman who wants to try everything once. After watching the film, people will leave the theatre with a smile,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Vidya also adds that she is not bothered about numbers. \u201cIf a film is successful in winning hearts then it is a hit, and if the producers get back their money and it earns some profit then it is a super hit,\u201d the actor said while talking about the \u2018Rs 100 crore\u2019 club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
