The Indian Govt. has made it mandatory for the car makers to fix passenger side air bag. The new vehicles, making a presentation in India, will have to be outfitted with two airbags. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification regarding new vehicles from April 1, 2021, which says that a car must have both driving side and traveler side airbags.
The notice is in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court of India. The notice additionally said that the airbag should fulfill the AIS 145 guideline under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) particulars.
