1000 POLICE PERSONNEL TO KEEP A STRICT VIGIL DURING SHOBHA YATRA TO MARK PARGAT UTSAV OF BHAGWAN VALMIKI JI- CP
DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION FINALIZES ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHOBHA YATRA

Commissioner of Police Mr. Praveen Kumar Sinha today said that around 1000 Police personnel would keep a strict vigil during the Shobha Yatra on October 4, to mark Pargat Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Rajinder Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, the Commissioner of Police today inspected security arrangements on the route plan of the Shobha Yatra. During the visit the officers of the district administration held detailed parleys to ensure that the pilgrims do not face any sort of inconvenience during the shobha yatra. Mr. Sinha said that the Police department would make elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order during the Shobha Yatra.
The Commissioner cautioned the officers/ officials that any sort of callousness in imparting duty during this shobha yatra would not be tolerated at any cost. He said that this Shobha Yatra was an important event in the region and every effort must be made to ensure that pilgrims participate in the Shobha Yatra in a smooth and hassle free manner. The Commissioner of Police said that around 100 security personnel would keep a round the clock vigil during this Shobha Yatra. Mr. Sinha said that adequate number of lady Police personnel would also be deputed during the yatra.
Meanwhile, it was decided that the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar would ensure proper cleanliness of the route of the Shobha Yatra, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets for the pilgrims participating in this mega event. Likewise, the Health department would depute Medical teams during the Shobha Yatra
along with medicines and Ambulances to facilitate the people the PSPCL would evolve a mechanism for supplying uninterrupted power during the Shobha Yatra.
Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included DCP Mr. Rajinder Singh, ADC Mr. Jasbir Singh, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Jasbir Singh Heer, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raghubir Singh Randhawa and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Satinder Chadha.
On the occasion leaders of Valmiki community Mr. Amrit Khosla, Mr. Subash Sondhi, Mr. Chandan Grewal, Mr. Raj Kumar Raju, Mr.Rajesh Bhatti, Mr. Jatinder Nikka, Mr. Vipan Sabharwal and others were also present.
