The response from the people in favor of Congress candidate Balbir Singh Sidhu from Mohali Assembly constituency is so overwhelming that even the nook meetings being held in his favor turn into massive election rallies. An example of this was found in a nukkad meeting convened by the residents of Ward No. 50 in favor of Balbir Singh Sidhu which Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu specially attended. This nukkad meeting turned into a big election meeting and the important thing was that the meeting was attended by a large number of women from the ward.
Residents of the area said that the ongoing development work in Mohali was a testament to the fact that the Municipal Corporation under the leadership of MLA and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu was carrying out large scale development in Mohali. The residents said that on the other hand the supporters of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kulwant Singh were obstructing the development work. They said that they have made up their mind and for the sake of development, they will elect Balbir Singh Sidhu by a landslide.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu said that the goal of MLA and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu was development without discrimination and he had entered the election fray on the strength of the development work done in Mohali. He said that the people of Mohali had decided to elect Balbir Singh Sidhu by a landslide as they knew that the rest of the candidates had come to the polls only for their personal interests. He said that especially Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kulwant Singh was a corporate tycoon and he wanted to make politics a business venture. He said that Kulwant Singh is never ready to meet people and that was the reason why Kulwant Singh was rejected by the people in the Municipal Corporation elections and was defeated by a huge margin.
He appealed to the people to cast their votes in large numbers on February 20 in favor of Balbir Singh Sidhu so that the development of the area could continue at a steady pace.
Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, Surinder Sharma, Harpreet Singh Deputy, Neelam Rani, Balwinder Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Shukla Ji, Sandeep Dhiman, Bhawandeep, Pardeep Nawab Rinku, Pinka, Ashok Kondal, Jaspal Kaur were present on the occasion.
