India won 14 medals including 3 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze on the first day of 13th South Asian Games.Adarsha M N Sinimol gave India the first gold medal by winning the men’s individual triathlon event at Pokhara in Nepal on Monday. Sinimol compatriot Bishworjit Srikhom took the silver in a 1-2 finish. Thoudam Sorojini Devi and Mohan Pragnya added a silver and a bronze in the women’s individual event.

In Taekwondo India clinched two gold, six silver and two bronze medals.At the conclusion of day one host Nepal was on top winning 15 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze, India remained at number two while Sri Lanka was third with 3 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze.
