15 marks based on socio-economic status

Chandigarh
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced a slew of incentives in Class C and D posts for job aspirants, including candidates having no family members in government service, widows, sons or daughters of widows and orphans.

He was replying to a calling attention motion on the concluding day of the Vidhan Sabha session here. Khattar unveiled a new job recruitment criteria having 85 marks for the written examination and 15 marks for the socio-economic status and experience.

Under the new criteria, five marks would be given to the candidates, whose no family member has a government or semi-government job. Besides, five marks would be given if the applicant is a widow or below 25 years of age and is the son or daughter of a widow or is an orphan. A maximum of five marks would be given in case of experience up to maximum 10 years in any government or semi-government organisation in Class D jobs.

The Chief Minister took potshots at the previous Congress and INLD governments for rampant corruption in recruitment. He said during the INLD government, no recruitment was made during the first 1,000 days of the rule and during the party’s five-year tenure it made recruitment on just 12,500 posts. Similarly, the previous Congress government filled 20,000 posts during its five-year tenure.

On the other hand, the Haryana Service Selection Commission (HSSC) had advertised 55,357 posts of Group B and C categories since 2015, Khattar said. The written examination had been held for 40,860 posts and the test results of 13,089 posts had been declared. Interviews had been held for 15,445 posts. The scrutiny of the applications for 8,690 more posts had been completed. Similarly, the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) had also made recruitment on 1,400 posts, he added.
