Payments worth Rs.1545.47 crore made

The Government agencies and private millers have procured 1738809 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 16 while payment worth Rs. 1545.47 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 1738809 MT of paddy while 35152 MT has been procured by the millers.

Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 542663 tonnes, MARKFED 422405 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 356190 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 170857 and 181269 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 30273 MT paddy.
