92.55% Lifting achieved

The Government agencies and private millers have procured 6704838 metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till October 24 while payment worth Rs. 6781.60 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government, rendering MSP benefits to 453697 farmers.

Disclosing this, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 6629445 MT of paddy while 75393 MT has been procured by the millers.

PUNGRAIN has procured 2690973 tonnes, MARKFED 1745143 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 120776 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 794307 MT paddy. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 108246 MT paddy.As per the 72 hours norm, 92.55% lifting of the purchased paddy has been achieved, he informed.
