7 day NSS Camp start at Dev Samaj College-45
Chandigarh : The inaugural function of the 7 day NSS Camp Programme of Dev Samaj College For Women Sector 45 B, Chandigarh was held today, 22nd December 2017.The theme of the camp is ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Digital India Cashless Drive’. The college has two NSS Units and one hundred NSS Volunteers are participating in the camp.
The camp started with an orientation program. The program officers interacted with the students and discuss the plan of the 7 days camp. An ice breaking exercise was conducted as part of introduction wherein each volunteers introduced herself to others by sharing strengths hobbies and weaknesses. Old Volunteers shared their experiences from the old camp and told them what they learnt from their previous camp. A documentary on NSS and a motivational short film were shown to the volunteers followed by a discussion on what did they learn from the documentaries.
As the day progressed, different committee were formed and volunteers were given different duties. The committees formed were cleanliness, discipline, refreshment, gardening, cultural and technical.
Various projects to be undertaken during the camp focus an overall personality development of the volunteers. These include physical fitness, exercises, motivational lectures, stress management, self grooming, tree plantation, cleanliness and beautification of the college campus and interaction with residents of adopted village Burial. The volunteers visited Burail village and talked about the importance of cleanliness. The cleanliness committee took to cleaning of the college ground and walls of the college.
