A day after a BSF Inspector and a minor girl were killed in heavy shelling by Pakistan, the Army today destroyed several posts across the Line of Control in retaliation to continuous ceasefire violation by the neighbour.

Three soldiers of the Pakistan army were reportedly killed and several forward posts damaged.Rajouri and Poonch districts continue to remain tense as Pakistan has been repeatedly targeting Indian posts along the LoC since January, especially in the past five days. There was heavy mortar shelling and firing along LoC in Krishna Ghati sector, Mankote, Shahpur and Kerni sectors late till Monday night and Nowshera sector in Rajouri till Tuesday morning.

Schools in Poonch district have been shut till further orders. The Defence PRO said three persons were injured on Tuesday evening as Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in Shahpur and Kerni sectors of Poonch.
