Payments worth Rs. 12,357.21 crore made

The Government agencies and private millers have procured 8810992 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 29 while payment worth Rs. 12,357.21 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 8743818 MT of paddy while 67174 MT has been procured by the millers.

Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 2983761 tonnes, MARKFED 2038396 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 1782878 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 873012 and 909318 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 156453 MT paddy.
