Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, organised a function on the school premises to celebrate Children’s Day by paying tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the country on his birth anniversary. A ‘bal mela’ was organised wherein senior National Conference leader Ajay Kumar Sadotra was the chief guest. Students of the primary wing performed a welcome dance followed by a skit by students of middle/high wing. Rameshwar Mengi, principal of the school, threw light on the importance of the day.

Army Public School (APS), Ratnuchak, also celebrated the day with zest and fervour. Principal Sonal Sharma wished the children health and success for their future and also motivated them for shouldering the responsibility as future leaders and citizens of the country. Fun activities and games were organised besides distribution of gifts to the winners.

Army Public School, Jammu Cantonment, celebrated the day on the school premises. The celebrations began with a special assembly in the morning conducted by the teachers. It was followed by a friendly cricket match and a tug of war between teachers and students in which students emerged as winners.

The BSF School celebrated the day with zeal. Ram Awtar, Inspector General, Border Security Force, Jammu Frontier and chairman of the school, was the chief guest. Various competitions like rangoli, flower arrangement, salad-making, needle and thread race, lemon spoon race and a cricket match between the staff and the students were also organised.
