Education Minister for suspension of BDO, vet surgeon

Ambala,
Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma has recommended suspension of a Block Development Officer (BDO) and a veterinary surgeon after he found several irregularities during a visit to a nandishala at Sullar village in Ambala City yesterday.

The minister also pulled up higher officials of the departments concerned for the poor condition of the nandishala.

Sharma told mediapersons that, “Local MLA Aseem Goel and other people had asked me to visit the nandishala and I was told that 150 heads of cattle have died here. I am a cow worshiper. I have 11 cows at my residence and I know how cows are kept. Recommendations have been made to suspend the BDO and veterinary surgeon for irregularities and poor condition of cattle and the nandishala”.

“It is a government of cow devotees and the neglect of cows would not be tolerated,” he added.

The minister said the nandishala was started four months ago in the village and nearly Rs 40 lakh had been spent on it, but ample fodder was not available here. The local SDM had been directed to depute a tehsildar for better management of the nandishala.

He directed the sarpanch of the village to take care of the nandishala and announced Rs 11 lakh from his discretionary fund for it.
