JALANDHAR AND KAPURTHALA ALL SET TO BECOME FIRST CITIES IN STATE WITH 24 HOURS WATER SUPPLY IN PLANNED LOCALITIES

In a first of its kind initiative in the state, the Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) and Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) have decided to provide 24 hours water supply in Choti Baradari
I and II locality of the city and Urban Estate locality of Kapurthala.
Divulging the details, the Additional Chief Administrator of JDA and Estate Officer (PUDA) Dr. Jai Inder Singh said that the basic aim of the step was to facilitate the people for having uninterrupted
water supply of potable drinking water. He said that this decision was likely to immensely benefit more than 2000 households of these localities. Dr. Jai Inder Singh said that earlier the civic body was
providing 12 hours water supply to the residents of these localities but now they have decided to ensure 24 hours water supply in them.
Dr. Jai Inder Singh said that the initiative was brainchild of Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Vinni Mahajan, who had recently during her visit in the city asked the officers to implement this at the
earliest. He said that two tube wells have been installed at the Choti Baradari I and II locality whereas three tube wells have been installed at Urban Estate Kapurthala. The Additional Chief Administrator said that this unique initiative of the Town Planning department would go a long way in facilitating the people to live their life comfortably.
